There are many factors we have to acknowledge in order to build a successful business, from the recent hike in cost of imported flowers, to social media and its role in our businesses. All impact a florist’s ability to succeed in this industry.
As a comprehensive floral management course, we prepare students, who are looking to make floristry into their own career, the essence for creating and paving the know-how of a successful floristry business. Through theoretical lectures, the syllabus is created to distill globally applicable key advice, knowledge and skill sets on the operations and management of such industry. Topics include but not limited to: Professional Flower Care & Processing, Commercial Use of Colour, Corporate Projects Handling, Guide on Purchasing Flowers, Wholesale Flowers Ordering Technique, Pricing Philosophy, Different Business Models within this Industry etc.
This course is suitable for students who would like to take their floristry career forward as a business opportunity. From opening a flower shop to managing a floristry brand, as well as neighboring industries like weddings planners and event managements, photographers, and more.
We recommend students who will be enrolling to this course to have basic flower arrangement qualifications and/or knowledge, recommended to take this course alongside with our CPD. Foundation Diploma – so to enrich students’ learning experience and understanding.
The Diploma course can be broken down into 3 separate Modules for students to enroll, students can opt for Modules they are interested in. Upon completing all 3 modules, they will be able to apply for the Florist Management Diploma.

About the Class
To ensure content for each class is standardized and aligned, classes are written and will be hosted via a recorded video podcast by our school Principal – Theresa Lam. FM Florist Management is a theoretical, lecture based course. Theresa will be sharing knowledge, expertise and stories from her own personal experiences and practical advice that aims to inspire, empower and support you on your floral design journey.
Lecture notes are given out in every session, covering the topic of that day and Commercial Order Handling. There will also be exclusive Flower Care Guide, Guide to Purchasing and Guide to Large Scale Designs booklets available in each module.
